Royal Oak Schools is pleased to partner with trusted community organizations to provide additional after-school enrichment for students at an affordable rate at each of our six elementary schools. These programs are in addition to our regular after-school care provided by Champions [link to page]. Young Oaks Enrichment is designed to engage your children in specific programming set to occur once a week for a five-week schedule. Programming varies by school, but each school will offer a physical activity program and an arts program.
Young Oaks Enrichment is managed by Royal Oak Schools with partnerships with Crayola Imagine Arts Academy, Seaton Athletics and the South Oakland YMCA. Each class is taught by trained staff who are specialists in their activities. Each program runs from 3:40 - 4:40 pm. Students who are enrolled in the program will go directly to the area within their school where the designated Enrichment program takes place. Parents can pick their children up from a designated dismissal door. Children who attend Champions After Care may also participate in all Enrichment Programs. Students will be escorted to Champions once the Enrichment program is complete.
Families can now register for winter sessions, which run through March 6, 2025. The next Spring schedule will be posted in February.
A variety of athletic programs are provided by Seaton Athletics and the YMCA. We are happy to offer high-quality programming from partners with many years of experience working in surrounding school districts . Seaton Athletic’s offerings are for grades 2-5. YMCA’s Y on the Fly is for grades K-5. Y on the Fly empowers children through physical activity with the opportunity to explore traditional and non-traditional sports. Each five-week session is $75, and four-week sessions are $60 and can be paid through Brightwheel upon registration.
Arts programs are provided by YMCA and Crayola Imagine Arts Academy. Y Arts provides fun, engaging activities including: painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, cartooning, and mixed media. Crayola Imagine Arts Academy offers sessions that introduce big ideas in a fun setting, supporting children as they explore and create. All arts offerings are for grades K-5. Y Arts sessions are $75 for five weeks, and Crayola sessions are $99 for four weeks and can be paid through Brightwheel upon registration.
